Don Bosco grads to try their luck in Sin City

The naughty Matharoo sisters, Jyoti and Kiran, have a court date on January 26 to settle up for their alleged shenanigans in the Nigerian capital of Lagos. According to a comprehensive account by Brad Hunter of the Toronto Sun,  the two fun-loving women plan to visit Las Vegas if and when they are permitted to leave Nigeria. It seems likely they will be on their way shortly however.

CRIMINAL UNDERTAKINGS

Hunter says the two have signed criminal undertakings confessing to blackmailing and cyberbullying more than 200 men. They have also agreed never to return to the west African nation. Whether the vaunted discretion of the Nevada hotspot will apply to these two — Whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas — remains an open question. The authorities have seen it all in Sin City. Hunter provides some background on Jyoti and Kiran.

VOLUPTUOUS SURGERY

He says they are reportedly the daughters of a Rexdale cab driver who attended Don Bosco Catholic Secondary School in Toronto. Jyoti is said to have graduated in 2003 and Kiran in 2004. Just how they gathered their reputed 50,000 Instagram followers may be an easy guess for those with an imagination. The pictures are said to be lively to say the least. Lisa Barton lives in the Mt. Pleasant St. Clair area and she tells The Bulldog about a suspicious man who came to the front door of her house about 9.30 a.m. last Thursday looking for a key under the doormat. Needless to say, she has reported it to the police. Her security system took this picture of the unknown man. Everyone please watch carefully.

Environment Canada is warning of another dump of snow early in the week from a Colorado low could dump 5 to 10 cm of snow across the region and much of southern Ontario. It could begin Monday night and carry on into Tuesday.. Because temperatures are going up, the snow will likely turn to rain later Tuesday. The statement from EC says: “There may be a significant impact to the Tuesday morning commute and possibly the afternoon one as well for regions where the change to rain occurs later.”  Toronto currently sits under an extreme cold weather alert issued by the City, with temperatures of -18 C with the wind chill. But the mercury will flirt with freezing — minus 3, 2, 2 and 5 for the first four days of the week.
The cold weather is expected to return on Friday, with a low of -14 C.

Toronto Police are requesting the public’s assistance identifying a man wanted in several break-and-enter investigations.  Sometime between Friday, November 18, 2016, and Monday, December 26, 2016, a man gained access to several residential apartment buildings, causing damage to the property as well as multiple storage lockers. This was in the College Street West and Spadina Avenue area  He is described as 5’10”, approximately 25-30, with a medium build.

Three City Councillors held an open house for “the East York crowd” at East York Civic Centre at 850 Coxwell Ave. Sunday afternoon. One of those present was Nora, a 95-year-old resident of the East york. She was accompanied her neighbor Lynne. Peter Tabuns gives his constituent a hug.

A driver who was allegedly impaired has slammed his car into the rear of a police cruiser making a traffic stop causing minor injuries to the two police officers. They were at Morningside Avenue and Sheppard Avenue just after 9 p.m. Saturday when the incident occurred. The police car appears to be sandwiched between the car which had been stopped and the rear-ending car.

Admirers of William (Bill) Marshal may pay respects on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Humphrey Funeral Home on Bayview Ave at St. Cuthberts Rd. Mr. Marshall died at age 77 on New Year’s Day. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m at the funeral home, 1403 Bayview Ave. A private service will be held and a public memorial service is currently being planned with details to be announced in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the family for “Bill Marshall in Trust” for a purpose to be established in his honour, or a donation can be made in memory of Bill Marshall to the Toronto General Hospital Transplant Program. Mr. Marshall’s distinguished life is recalled in detail in the obituary here.

Here is what Chris E. Small saw and heard at the top of a high tension hydro pole about noon today on Orton Park Rd. near Ellesmere Ave. She called hydro and in due course a bucket truck was there with rescuers in charge. Back on the ground the well-marbled Tabby did what any cat would do. Look at you like nothing ever happened.

Hi everyone,

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your help and support during this difficult and frustrating search.

We have been advised by the professionals helping us with the search that, for now, we should not involve too many in the search for fear that Sike may be spooked and relocate out of the area that he has been seen in. We feel terrible that we have not been able to keep you more updated and involved, and will post relevant updates as we have them (as of now, there are none). We continue to monitor a number of live traps that have been set, and are currently exploring other options that we feel may bring him home safely. We are exhausted and frustrated, but are not going to give up until Sike is safe – it breaks our hearts to think of how confused and scared he must be.

For now, continuing to distribute posters, keeping your eyes open as you go about your daily routine, and informing us of any possible sightings is the best way to help! Keeping Sike in your thoughts and sending positive energy means more than you could possibly know right now.

The man with the camera says “Here we go, here we go” as he see how cars and trucks are speeding into disaster on the weekend. Highway 401 reopened overnight Sunday after the long closure because of snow and accidents Saturday. Both lanes of the highway were closed between Mill Street and Liberty Street  There were crashes involving as many as 100 vehicles. Environment Canada said two to four centimetres of snow could fall on the Highway 401 between Bowmanville and Port Hope.

These are images from a truly frightening video taken by one of three women in a car which was blocked and forced to stop on Highway 427 last Wednesday. The man and his friend seen above in video photo captures shows a person who was close to apoplectic because the women had been driving only ten kms over the speed limit in the left lane of the highway. That’s right, they were travelling at 110. This was slow enough in the mind of the man and a passenger that they got out of the car not once but three times and launched an avalanche of vulgar abuse. The matter has been reported and in a Facebook update the woman motorist, Bella Brant, says the case is now being handled as a criminal matter by the OPP. One would hope so. The video is very dark but it can be seen and heard, along with the offensive language, on the Facebook page here.  Among things seen on these captures enhanced by The South Bayview Bulldog is the license plate of the car, one man’s mustache, a jacket with the New York Yankees logo on the back and a red toque.
